Frequently Asked QuestionsWhere do you send my framing to be done? Who does my framing? These are probably the most commonly asked questions. Just to reassure our clients, your work is done here. Within our store, there are different areas where different parts of the framing process take place. Wendy, the owner, has been framing for 15 years and is highly skilled in all areas of design and custom picture framing. John, the founder of the company, is great at design and specialized in the frame cutting and assembly of your framing package. Amanda, the newest member of our team, is still "apprenticing" in mat cutting, but is skilled in the assembly of your framing package and customer service. You may also meet Barb, an artist and one of our design specialists who helps out with customer service part-time.

What can you frame? Just about anything!!
Do you stretch and frame needleart? We sure do! Crosstich, petit point, crewel, crocheting and lace, just for starters.
How long does it take to get something framed? We usually ask for 2-3 weeks. Most of our suppliers are local, but depending on many factors, such as product availability and time of year, a minimum of two weeks is usually required.
How much does it cost to get something framed? This is a really complicated question to answer...that's why it's best if you bring your work in so we can discuss your needs with you. We price framing by size, so that larger the piece, the more it will cost. There are so many factors that determine cost, that it's impossible to cover them all in this format, by phone or email. Also, a word of caution in this domain: the picture framing industry is unregulated in Canada. What does this mean? It means that anyone can hang out a shingle and call themselves a picture framer, there is no journeymen program or school that a framer has to attend to become certified before they can call themselves a "picture framer". So beware the "% off" sales techniques and such to save a few dollars. We have seen many tears and lots of angst with regard to improperly framed items. We encourage you to seek out a reputable business with knowledgeable, caring staff to have a proper job done. If you end up spending a few extra dollars, it may be worth it.
